I don’t know about you but if I say Mote in casual conversation I am usually referring to Mote Marine where Helen Fraider and I volunteered in the 1980s.

Mote Marine is located on City Island in Sarasota County, Florida near the Sarasota Sailing Squadron.

The facility does Marine Biology research.
