Government Cheese was delicious. Best used for making Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. It tasted similar to a White Velveeta. It melted smooth and had a pleasant aroma and flavor. However, it was not the best stuff for ya. Twas a perk on being on the public Dole in the United States during the Reagan Era to be eligible for food benefits that included it as a free or reduced cost affordable grocery item and was considered a Poverty Level Income household pantry item used as a nutritional staple.
