Guess what I am getting ready to go do.
I will check back in after I race my husband down the hill on the sleds my very adult self bought anticipating a sledding friendly giant snow storm.
Will we make it down the hill at any pace faster than the clip of a chilly Hurtle? Or will we meet out fate careening off the icy slope between our home and closest neighbor into the woods behind our Palace Du Jour where we feed local foxes as well as Lowe’s Island Deer?
Who knows. But wish my husband and I luck.
May our butts stay dry and the rest of us warm. May we make it back inside the house without injury and in a healthier, well exercised form.
We are both age 55.
We have known one another since I was 12. Since we met in Florida but now live in Northern Virginia and work in the DC Metro area nowadays, this is our first big enough snowstorm to go sledding together.
Most of the country as well as our Canadian neighbors to the North have been impacted. Temperatures are close to 25° below normal for this time of the year. Roads are treacherous and most folks who are not essential workers or corporate Psychopaths are tucked in safe at home… with CNN reporting 800k plus power outages heading into the afternoon.

UPDATE: Still alive, both of us smiling, and most importantly ZERO FROST BITE. Action shots are less than expected. Snow channel is dug to work on to ice slick this week as it hard freezes overnight. We left our sleds outside for the kids in our neighborhood if they brave the outside. We were surprised seeing no kids outside playing today. All the grownups were outside having fun shoveling snow and helping each other free cars with our local community (translation = utterly borrowed) Snowblower.
