Thank you God. I really like the day you made for me today. My day today included Cold Winter Weather and much Pet-Friendly Wildlife Excitement. Today was the first day of snow for the 2025 Holiday Season. I took the dog for a walk to the park after cleaning snow off my deck chairs using my new Pink Snow and Leaf Blower, off a bit of my front porch and sidewalk, got the yard laid out with a walk pattern so I know where to drive to walk with Deicer (like Salt) that won’t hurt pets or animals or kill the grass, and got apples out for the deer. Once all the outside work was done, the cat and I got busy hanging around in the library in front of the electric fireplace. We had four deer visit today — one of the does, her two babies that are a year or two old, and her honey who stayed closer to the river that runs through the wildlife refuge area at the back corner of our home office property located on Lowes Island in Sterling, Virginia. The DC Metro area in one of the best places to live. Deer and Birds are plentiful and are enjoyable to watch as are the Squirrels and local families of Foxes. After that, I fixed a cup of Maxwell House Instant Decaf paired with Organic Half and Half and two spoonfuls of Swiss Miss Instant Hot Cocoa mix and settled in on the couch in our TV / Dining area to watch the new channel MS Now — Deadline Whitehouse and The Beat With Ari Melber with my feet up on my old Barn Door Coffee Table. As far as I know, I don’t have to go anywhere or do anything between now and Monday except to keep sorting Amazon packages arriving. I got gifts for the neighbors who we spend the most time with — a pleasure to do (getting folks things that I hope will make their lives better). I did forget to put out more significant deer food than apples. I try to keep nutrition blocks out for them to keep them healthy year round. Somewhere I tucked back a bag of Persimmons for them to scatter during the cold. Finding that bag is going to be my Scavenger Hunt in my home tomorrow. But for tonight, relaxing. Gluten Free Sushi for appetizers (including Coconut Rice Paper Shrimp Rolls and Stuffed Inari Pockets) already in the fridge and GF Salmon Bowls with Asian Veggies thanks to Wegmans will be dinner later with Husband. Tonight, Netflix and Chill. Electric Fireplace in the bedroom makes wonderful heat in the winter as well as generates relaxing ambient light year ’round. Kitty likes to hang out downstairs; dog prefers spending time wherever I am unless her DA is around. Then she’s Santa’s First Puppy — and it’s truly adorable. He’s on the way home by train. We expect to see his smiling face and rosy cheeks shortly.
