We Grew Flowers

Loading

We grew flowers for fun at our current home office. Here are a few photos of the new round of blossoms blooming today — May 9, 2026 AD AE (the date of this original posting). We grew a mix of Perineal blends and have been arranging the plants that grow best into other locales around the yard the past two spring seasons. Now in the third, we have expanded planting bed areas, groomed all our trees the past three years here to the shape and size roughly that we want them, we made sure nothing was touching the house anymore re tree branches, we have completely regrown the land covered with grass and green ground cover to make the yard heat tolerant and drought resistant, etcetera. We also made everything nature friendly for birds, squirrel, chipmunk, foxes, and deer that we feed on the regular for our pleasure watching — noting the feeding area we made for our cat to have something fun out the window was well received by all members of said population.

We also made a swag light out of my deceased grandmother’s favorite collander.

As such I tend to feel quite at home in Northern Virginia. I truly adore Loudoun County.

And our place here is a pleasure to live and work from at this time in our life.

Cousin Frank Lloyd Wright once said, “The longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes.” He inspired me.

If I had to drop in to visit myself in my own DNA this is my favorite thus far landing spot.
